Saint Patrick’s manager Johnny McDonnell has praised the impact of the returning Brian Kerr which he sees as a key reason behind his sides excellent recent form.
The former Irish manager has teamed up to help boss McDonnell with the running of the team with spectacular effect. So far the Dubliners top the Premier League with five wins in a row and are also through to the Semi Finals of the Setanta Cup. McDonnell said “Liverpool started the whole idea with Shanklin and Paisley but here at Richmond Park Brian has brought serious experience to our background set up.”
“He has joined myself, Liam O’ Brien, an Irish international in his day and Mick Byrne, one of the best strikers in the League of Ireland. Between us we have a huge amount of experience to pass on to the players.”
There had been suggestions that Kerr was coming in to manage the Saints but McDonnell is quick to pore cold water on such rumours. “There was speculation that Brian came here to nick my job. But I never felt that was the case. He’s a Saints fan through and through.”
