St Pat's moved temporarily into second place of the eircom League after a comfortable 4-0 win over Cork City, their biggest win of the season. Two goals a piece from Stephen McGuinness and Ger McCarthy gave Pat Dolan's men a hugh boost ahead of Saturday's FAI Cup match against Longford Town.

Pat's first goal came after 20 minutes when Ger McCarthy toe-pokedthe ball beyond Devine, and while the Pat's fans were still celebrating, Steve McGuinness headed home a Martin Russell free.

In first-half injury time, Steve McGuinness headed home again to make it 3-0.

The game was ended as a contest when Ger McCarthy scored his second of the day, and in the final 10 mintues O'Halloran was sent off for Cork.
