ROBBIE DOYLE scored a late equaliser to rescue St Pat's in last night's relegation dogfight at the RSC.
Waterford went in front after 19 minutes when Kevin Waters - a constant source of dangerous crosses - delivered an in-swinging ball that was met first time by Vinny Sullivan whose right-foot volley flew into the net past Pat's 'keeper Brendan Clark.
Clark had produced two great saves to keep out earlier efforts from Waters, while another Waters corner was headed out from underneath the crossbar by Darragh Maguire.
Waterford spurned chances to seal the points and were made to pay in the closing stages as St Pat's pushed Maguire into the attack and their long-ball tactics paid dividends in the 85th minute.
A long ball from Barry Prenderville into the heart of the Waterford defence was met first time by Doyle who he steered the equaliser past Holden.
