Harps hang on for draw
Saturday October 1st 2005
ST PATRICK'S ATH 0
FINN HARPS 0
IF BRIAN Kerr went to Richmond Park last night to take his mind off the upcoming climax to World Cup qualification, then it was a bad move as this uninspiring encounter provided plenty of time for day-dreaming.
Visiting Finn Harps have been in relegation trouble all season but, with Waterford United seemingly on the way back in the right direction, St Pat's must now be viewed as potential candidates for the drop.
Both sides looked desperately afraid of losing, and the men from Donegal will probably go home the happier although they now find themselves back on the bottom of the table.Neither side deserved to win and goalmouth action was at a premium although the hosts squandered a great chance to open the scoring in a tepid first half.
Norwegian striker Glen Larsen headed straight at visiting 'keeper Gavin Cullen after a poor clearance from Harps' defender Shane Bradley.
After the break, Harps enjoyed the better of the chances.
