Under 11's Team Up With Seniors
St Pat's Under 11's were tonight's special guests at the first team's training session ahead of tomorrow's big game against Derry City.
John McDonnell invited the team along with their managers, coaches and parents to sit in on this evening's session, and afterwards the lads joined in on a penalty shootout, and had a chance to meet their heroes and take some pictures and get some much coveted autographs.
The squad of 15 sat in the sun watching attentively from the sidelines as McDonnell and Liam O'Brien went through various drills. The Under 11's manager, Ben Smithers, said that it's a great experience for the young lads to see how the senior team train and prepare for their matches.
Having watched the first team put through their paces, the lads enjoyed a penalty shoot-out. And then posed for some pictures, and then hunted down the seniors for their autographs.
Glen Larsen, Darragh Maguire, Trevor Molloy and Barry Ryan all waited behind to sign autographs before gathering their stuff and heading home.
The Under 11's squad includes Gregory Moorhouse, who picked up the Leisureplex Youth's Player of the Month. Smither's commented, "it's a team full of stars of the future, it was great for them to see what they can look forward to, if they continue their hard work".
