Team News: Cork City Vs St Pat's

St Patrick's Athletic continue the defence of their EA Sports Cup crown when they travel south to face Cork City in Turner's Cross in the Quarter-Finals on bank holiday Monday (kick-off 4pm).

Reigning champions for the past two years in the EA Sports Cup, the Saints will be hoping to defeat a Cork City side with a 100% winning record in the SSE Airtricity League to date.

In team news, the Saints remain without Darren Dennehy through injury, while manager Liam Buckley will assess the fitness of a number of players following the Saints' 2-2 draw away to Derry City last Friday.

"Friday was a tough game against Derry. To have led twice in the game only to be pegged back, you come away a little disappointed but that said, a point away to Derry is always a good result," Buckley told stpatsfc.com

"We now head into Monday's EA Sports Cup Quarter-Final in decent spirits. Making another long trip to Cork will be a challenge, but we've tried to recover as best as possible and prepare the players as best as possible."

"We know that Cork are in great form having played them recently in the league. Even though they came away with a 3-0 victory from Inchicore, the game was very close for an hour so we will take encouragement from that. We've a good record in the EA Sports Cup, which includes an away win over Cork two years ago so we know we have the ability to come away with a result."
