St Patrick's Athletic U17's made it two wins out of two in the SSE Airtricity U17 League thanks to a 4-0 win away to Salthill Devon on Saturday.
The Saints secured the points thanks to goals from Evan Casey, skipper Conor Fowler (2) and Nathan Nolan.
After defeating another side from the west in Sligo Rovers last Tuesday, the Saints travelled to Galway in good spirits off the back of their 3-1 win against the Bit O'Red. However Pat's were made to stay patient in the first half as they opened the scoring in the 38th minute, Casey finding the net with a volley from the edge of the box after Salthill failed to clear their lines.
The Saints made it 2-0 shortly after the HT break through captain Conor Fowler; the defender curling in a brilliant free-kick with his left foot.
The Saints secured the points as Fowler added his second through a powerful shot from outside the area which struck the underside of the bar and over the line; the assistant referee signalling that the ball had crossed the line.
Nathan Nolan added further gloss to the scoreline by scoring the Saints' fourth with five minutes remaining; Nolan's shot from the edge of the box going through a crowd of players to give Jamie Moore's side a 4-0 win and keep them at the top of section two of the SSE Airtricity U17 League ahead of Mervue United on goal difference.
The Saints' U17's next fixture is on Sunday, August 23 against Athlone Town in ALSAA at 2pm.
