Striker Sean Stewart who made the breakthrough last season coming from St Pat's under 20 side has re-signed for the club.
Currently an engineering student in Tallaght IT, the 19 year old took time out to talk to stpatsfc.com about playing for the Saints again next season:
“I started out playing at Kilnamanagh, went on to Lourdes Celtic, then to St Kevin's and on to Belvedere before joining the under 20's at Pat's last year.
To be honest I was a bit shocked when Pete brought me into the first team as I thought I would be spending the season developing with the U-20's.
Towards the end of the season I got a few games and a lot of people said I had done well.
My first game for Pat's was against Belgrove in the FAI Cup, I was a bit nervous coming on but straight away I got a good touch and settled right into it.
I managed to score out in UCD in the last 10 minutes or so and that was a proud moment for me.
Running back to the halfway line, I recognised a few faces - my father and uncle had grown up across the canal in Drimnagh supporting St Pat's and they rarely miss a game.
When I first got the call from Pete about signing for Pat's, the da was pretty chuffed, he went around with a big smile on his face for a few days!
Next season I would like to make a lot more appearances, maybe try and get a few starts, make an impact and hopefully help the team finish a bit better than last year.
My biggest strength I suppose is my pace but I know I have to improve as a player – I need to work on my dribbling skills to get past players and also on changing feet, coming inside and getting shots off.
I enjoyed last year but you're definitely playing at a higher tempo, I've got my fitness programme already for next season and I intend now to get stuck into that”.
The club would like to remind all Pat's supporters that 2011 Season tickets are available from the club shop - the Saints Superstore on Emmet Road.
A discount on season tickets is available until Saturday.
