STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF ST PATRICK'S ATHLETIC

The board of St Patrick's Athletic has advised the FAI of its intention to move from a full-time to part-time professional club from the start of next year.

In anticipation of a sharp fall in income and in light of the general market difficulties and the Association's rule on a 65% wage cap, the club is obliged to re-organise its financial structure.

Representatives of the club have met with the Professional Footballers Association of Ireland to establish a new basis on which to proceed.
