FAI YOUTH CUP ROUND 5 SUNDAY FEB 3

Brendan's Park FC (Tralee) v St Patricks Athletic

This Sunday sees our Youths Team make the long journey to tackle Brendan's Park FC in Tralee in the Last 16 of the FAI Youth Cup.

The Youths have already accounted for Dublin opposition in the last 4 rounds namely : Crumlin Utd 5–1, Shamrock Rovers 3–2 (Extra time), Lourdes Celtic 4–0 and most recently Trinity S & L 4–0.

Manager Alan Ryan and Assistant Manager Brian Dalton are fully aware of the task facing the lads this weekend.

‘When I first saw the draw I immediately thought of the distance and logistics involved' was Alan's reaction. “However now the game is set and we are all 100% focussed on winning and progressing to the Quarter Finals.”

“We have been impacted by the bad weather recently and as a result have only had 4 games since the end of November, however these have resulted in 4 wins so confidence is high.”

The team travel to Kerry this Saturday and will stay overnight before taking on the might of the Kingdom on Sunday kicking off at 12:30. They are determined to travel back on Sunday evening with a place in the Quarter Finals secured.
A couple of players will undergo fitness tests on Sat and again Sun but Assistant Manager Dalton is confident all will be fit.

“We are spending the week preparing the players both mentally and physically, it looks like everyone will be fit with the possible exception of Stephen Fitzpatrick who is suffering from a viral infection”
