CORCORAN'S CRACKER
On a windy Saturday and on a heavy pitch our under 13's put in a very good performance to record a 1-0 win away to Leicester Celtic. For their first game back after the Christmas break the lads played extremely well.
Facing into a strong wind in the first half they defended well and restricted Leicester to one long range shot that flashed across the goal and wide. Alex Dolan had an opportunity to open the scoring for the Saints early on following a corner but a poor first touch allowed Leicester to clear.
With ten minutes left Pats won a free-kick 35 yards out - Kevin Corcoran hit it sweetly and his fiercely struck shot flew home. Glen Carroll almost doubled the lead with another long range effort minutes later but a superb tip over by the Leicester keeper denied the midfielder.
All in all it was a solid performance from all the players which was rewarded by a deserved three points.
